WHERE’S OUR FOCUS

Do we spend more time focusing on the good or the bad? In situations that are out of our control, do we dwell on the negative from it or look for the positive? We need to really look at our focus right now and all through the day to be sure we are focusing on the good, to be sure we are focusing on God. He can help us to turn our eyes from worthless things and turn to His word.

Psalm 119:37 “Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word. (NLT)

Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to think about our focus all day long today. We want to focus on good and on You. We want to stop thinking about things that are nonsense, things that are silly and things that are worthless. Help us to focus on what is right and pure and good so we are doing what You have called us to do by uplifting others and praising Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

We can choose to focus on the good in life when we put our trust in God.

God doesn’t want us to have negative thinking. He wants us to believe and have hope in what He can do…which is always good.

Our focus today will either create for us a good day or a bad day. It’s our choice.

When we stop thinking about worthless things – things that do no matter to God – we can better focus on Him and what good things He has called us to do.

When we put our focus on God and the heavenly prize He has for us, we will want to do right and focus on what is right to do.

Philippians 3:14 “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (NLT)

Focus today: Let’s turn our focus on God and the good that He does, so that we are better able to know His will and obey Him.

Look at what we have been given. Look at where we have been. Look at how far we still have to go, but don't look to far, stay in today.

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Refrain:
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
