Listen to God's Voice

Listen at the door posts of your heart for the still small voice of God.
Let your heart decide what be truth and what is not truth.
For it is with the heart you can believe, love and feel joy.
By their fruits you can discern what is of God and what is not of God.
Does the words generate peace or strife?
Love or hate?
Sadness or joy?
Doubt or faith?
If a voice comes to you in the darkness of night and brings turmoil and thoughts of worry, does that voice come from the God of peace and faith or does it come from the father of war and doubt?
The voice of God is the Bread of Life and His Voice feeds the inner man and brings life everlasting.

It was important to me to recognized that my God, utilized people, places and things, to show me a new way of living.

People can be those in recovery who are clean and sober, and I have to say, it has been my experience, some in church, family, friends, sponsors, and just someone passing by.

Places can be on my knees, a time out for meditation and prayer, a quiet place, a place in nature where I can know God Peace and feel His Power.

Things can be nature itself, music, and that stillness of just being one with God, even amongst chaos.

But most often, it comes from the inner knowing, the soul within, that is our spiritual connection and comes from a place of Love, Gratitude, and Acceptance of what is in the moment.

The Bible and spiritual literature, like AA's Big Book, the Basic Text of NA, and other fellowships. Pieces from "Came to Believe" and Just for Today, show that a Higher Power can work in our lives.

So many the times the word is there, but we change them to our way of thinking, our wishes, change them around to justify our actions, not willing to admit our wrong and the detour(s) we took to get us to where we are in today. His Voice is gentle, yet I have found them to be loud awakenings and firm awakenings as to what I am doing, that is not His Will. All He asks me to do is try. My failure is in the not trying, and just sitting back waiting for things to happen, without doing my part.
