WHAT’S THE RUSH?
We get up late. We get stuck in traffic. We have to wait in line. It seems like when we are in the biggest hurry, we end up having to wait. It seems like when we are rushed, we skim over some of the things we need to do so we can get back on track. It seems like the days we are the busiest trying to get things done, we forget our priorities. But we can’t forget God. We can’t skip the step of talking with Him during the day. We can’t leave Him out of our lives when we are in a rush. He should be first in all we do. Then He will take care of the rest.
Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (KJV)
Dear Lord, help us not to be too rushed today that we forget about You. Help us to remember You first before we do anything else. Help us to go to You first before tackling anything. Help us to remember You when we are stuck in traffic, waiting in line and feeling rushed due to the things of the world. We know You have a plan for us today and help us to remember to be still and listen to Your gentle and guiding word so we can be obedient to You and help others in the midst of our busyness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God wants us to stop even at our busiest moments and remember what He has called us to do.
When we are too busy to remember God, we are focusing on the wrong things.
At our busiest moments, God wants us to remember His plan for us and take time to refocus on Him.
In our quiet time, we can hear God. We shouldn’t be too busy to stop and listen to what He wants us to do.
It is when we decide to return to and rest in God that we will find peace in the midst of the busyness of life.
Isaiah 30:15b “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength.” (NLT)
Focus for today: Take time to check in with God regularly today so you are doing what He wants rather than being busy doing what you and everyone else wants.
