ANOTHER DISTRACTION

Things don’t always go as we plan. There will be times when we wake up late. There will be times when the baby gets up earlier than normal and messes up our routines. There will be times when we get a new and urgent project or task at work where we have to work late. We don’t know when these things will happen but the do disrupt our routines and plans. However, when they do happen – and they will – we have to remember to focus. We have to remember to focus on God and let Him reveal to us His plan in all the distractions.

Ephesians 3:20 “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we come to You this day knowing there will be distractions. Help us to plan for those now by committing to continue to focus on You through the distractions. Help us to not give up living a godly example to others even when we are interrupted or distracted. Help our focus to be on serving You with gladness and joy no matter what the day brings. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Even though we get distracted in life, we don’t have to lose focus on God.

There are going to be times when things don’t go as planned. But that doesn’t mean we have to lose focus on God and what He has planned for us.

We should always be ready for the unexpected and look for ways to continue to share God’s word.

We need not get upset when our plans don’t go right. God works according to His will, not ours.

Sometimes God’s plan is that we are distracted so we can see things in a different light.

Jeremiah 29:11 “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” (NLT)

Focus today: Decide you are ready to serve God all day long despite any distractions.

Distractions come in many forms. Sometimes we get ourselves in a rut, and we can't get out of it. Sometimes, an old behavior, habit, or love comes back into our life, often of our own choosing.

No one can do anything to us without our permission. Through my God, I am empowered to do what I need to do for my recovery. Sometimes, things no longer serve me, and I need to look for an alternative route or a new awareness and commitment.

Distractions can get us off track, or they can give you a new awareness as to what needs to be changed, like a new job, a new personal regime and/or a spiritual growth, and a new experience that your God wants you to go through. A lesson learned, a hardship, a spiritual awakening, all things that enriches our life.

When I question myself, I am questioning my God.
