GOODNESS AND KINDNESS

Despite what news and posts we read about, there is goodness and kindness in this world. There is also something we can do to increase the goodness and kindness in this world. We can create it. We can plant seeds of kindness by doing good to others. We can get deeper into God’s word and learn more about His goodness and share that with others. If we feel there is not enough goodness and kindness in our lives, we need to start exhibiting it toward others in all we do.

SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:31-32 “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you do to spread kindness.
2. List the qualities of someone who is good and kind.
3. Know God’s word tells you to be kind to others.
4. Remember God’s kindness to you and share with others what He has done for you.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we hear Your command to be good and kind to others. You have shown Your goodness and kindness to us in so many ways. We are so grateful for the example You have set for us on what we are to do to show goodness and kindness to others. Help us to be a godly example today, Lord, so we can add a little bit more goodness and kindness to this world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER: We are called to live holy lives and be a godly example to others. That requires we show goodness and kindness to them.

Colossians 3:12 “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” (NLT)

2 Corinthians 6:6 “We prove ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, by the Holy Spirit within us, and by our sincere love.” (NLT)

2 Timothy 2:24 “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.” (NLT)

God reminds us to prepare for His Kingdom by practicing goodness and kindness in this world. He is pleased when we have an attitude of goodness, peace and joy.

FOCUS: Romans 14:17-18 “For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God, and others will approve of you, too.” (NLT)
