God wants you to know that ... you can be an encouragement.

Everyone needs encouragement, but it's so easy to forget to take the time to give it. Think of someone in your life whom you appreciate today, or someone who made you smile, - and tell them! Even if it's a stranger, take a moment to let them know you noticed.

God wants you to know that ... you can stay strong through misfortune.

When times are rough, don’t fight it. Have patience. Storms wreak havoc in every life. But if you bend with the storm like a blade of grass and allow it to pass, soon you will stand upright again.

If you cannot find the answers you seek, it is because they are not easily expressed in words. Listen to your heart. It knows everything - but does not need words to communicate.

God wants you to know that ... silence is golden.

When we are quiet, we can hear God's messages to us. Sometimes these messages may be in the form of subtle intuition. Sometimes it may feel like an inner knowing. Sometimes we may hear a 'still, small voice.' If it feels right in your heart, trust that it is God speaking to you.

God wants you to know that ... God loves you.

Yes, God loves you. Very much. Unconditionally. Like a mother loves her child, unconditionally. Even as she slaps her baby's hand to protect from being burnt by a fire, her love infuses her whole being. So with God. God's love for you infuses the whole Universe.

God wants you to know that ... there are countless ways to love God.

Love God through love for your parents. Love God through love for your spouse. Love God through love for your children. Love God through love for your friends. Love God through love for your country. For God is in all these and much, infinitely, more.

God wants you to know that ... the way you treat others is the way you treat yourself.

True respect for another comes from self respect. True love for another comes from self love. True forgiveness for another comes from self forgiveness.

God wants you to know that ... your friends are one of your greatest blessings.

Take time to spend time with them. Nurture them. Friends enrich your life immeasurably. They make good times better and hard times easier. Be good to your friends and love them well.

My sponsor told me that many years ago in early recovery. I said, "I know, but I don't always know what the question is." Later I came to realize, it doesn't matter what the question is there, the answer is still there without me having to know.

God is there. All you have to do is acknowledge the God of your understanding, and have a one on one with Him/Her. He is the Source, He is the Power, and to Him give the Glory.

God wants you to know that ... there are times we are called to be a light in the darkness.

Now is that time. Be a calm presence of love. Let your heart shine like a beacon in dark times. It is surprising what a difference one light can make.

You may think you have challenges, but you have so many blessings. Sometimes it takes only a moment of conscious effort to recognize those blessings. Once you focus on the gifts instead of the problems, your whole perspective will change and you will see blessings everywhere.

When you fill your life with noise from TVs, chores from to-do lists, arguments from newspapers, where will you find space for love, relationships, faith and God? Cherish the simple things in life. Put the rest back on the shelf.

Now is one of those times. What do you have to celebrate? Give praise and thanks for all that you have been given.

If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, there must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart.

Even when this seems paradoxical on the surface, - how could you ever possibly want anything but happiness, - on a deeper level, there is something in you that is making it so. To transform your life you first must understand what is keeping it the way it is.

If your prayer has no emotion, it has no power. God wants to know how you feel. God wants to hear what's in your heart.

If you do not, then you will forever be looking to others to prove your own merit to you, and you will never be satisfied. You will always be asking others what to do and at the same time resenting their help. Trust in yourself starts with being ok with the consequences of your decisions.

Look at the world around you, the infinite detail and creativity. Unimaginable beauty surrounds us every day. You are part of that creation, materializing from the same artist that created sunsets and rainbows. Don't ever allow yourself to think you are anything less than wonderful.

How you respond to the life God offers you is what makes you.

Offerings can come in many forms: a gift, a prayer, a smile, flowers, food. Offer something from your heart.

God wants you to know that ... your soul is always in communion with God.

When you feel lost, or afraid, or sad, - feel into your soul to find the strength of Divine presence.

God wants you to know that ... happiness has nothing to do with pleasure.

You feel pleasure when you want something and you get it. Or when you don't want something and you remove it. Pleasure is always relative. Happiness is absolute. Happiness is the understanding and acceptance of life as it is in this very moment as completely perfect, because every creation of God is perfect. The degree to which you do not accept life in all of the Divine forms is the degree to which you suffer.

God wants you to know that ... love is a great investment.

A new house, a valuable stock portfolio and precious gems may seem like good investments. But will they be there to comfort you in difficult times? Share your joy in good times? Or sit by you as you breathe your last breath? Invest some time and energy in loving others and watch your investment grow.

God wants you to know that ... there is no way to happiness, happiness is the way.

Happiness does not come from seeking new landscapes, but from having new eyes on the same life you've always been living.
