YOUR DAILY INSPIRATION
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
In today’s world, I have witnessed so much anger, hurt and sadness that have seen displayed in the lives of others. Along with that, judgement and criticism are abundant along with unkind words and foul language. Moreover, I have observed a world that makes mistakes everyday. I see people that fail in their relationships, at their jobs, with their families.
Forgiveness, mercy and grace are what we, as God’s dear children, have to offer this hurting world. We must use loving kindness to draw them to Jesus. Jesus said, “I have drawn you with my loving kindness.” To forgive means that we need to humble ourselves, to be able to look at ourselves, and see the truth of who we are.
Sometimes I wonder, if love came in medicine form for us to ingest, to heal the sick at heart – what would Jesus prescribe? If we put ourselves in the lives and circumstances of the patients (the members of the human race). For me, I would like 500 mg of mercy and compassion 3 times a day for the rest of my life, with no expiration date, created by Dr. Jesus. What makes your spirit sick? What hurts you and breaks your heart? Jesus is the medicine that heals. He is the father of mercy and compassion. We all know where we were, broken, when we came to Him. Healed by billions of milligrams of compassion and grace, and He saved us. Let us remember where we were and be sensitive and aware of the hurt others may be experiencing.
- Celeste Harris
“Forgiveness is the economy of the heart … forgiveness saves the expense of anger, the cost of hatred, the waste of spirits.”
- Hannah More
Lord, more than anything, I want to be like You! Give me strength to forgive like You did – even when it was hard. While those who hated You persecuted You, You STILL only prayed for Your Father to forgive them. Teach me this wonderful, divine lesson, Lord.
