Introduction to Recovery Pastor Dale Marsh’s Radio Interview
Dale Marsh, Recovery Pastor of the Oroville Church of the Nazarene in Oroville, California, is a particularly welcome guest today. And let me tell you just how dynamic his outreach to alcoholics and drug addicts has been on the California scene. First, Dale was a successful businessman who had recovered from alcoholism, was intense in his desire to help the afflicted recover through reliance on God, and had long been connected with his church's efforts along those lines. Second, Dale made a decision to establish the best Christian recovery fellowship possible in his church, his community, and the recovery arena. He and his wife traveled to Rock Church in San Diego and to The Crossing Church in Costa Mesa--two of the most successful Christian recovery efforts we know of. Both of them suggested that he also contact us; and we met with him in California. Dale soon began working to become a Recovery Pastor and an ordained minister in his church. He immediately began contacting International Christian Recovery Coalition leaders all over California to help us get them networking together. He soon became a leader in our Speaker's Bureau and has since been invited by a number of California Christian recovery leaders to speak to or preach at their churches. He has assisted us in a number of our travels. He has sparked up the Serenity Group program of his church. And his most notable success has been as a spokesman to the communities where, whether at A.A., N.A., treatment, prisons, or elsewhere, there is great hunger for information about why early A.A. succeeded and how to apply its astonishing Christian techniques in today's 12 Step fellowships--using Conference-approved literature to attract those in, interested in, or looking for facts in today's 12 Step Fellowships. I don't need to tell you the subjects Dale will cover today because he has many messages to convey. So, with that, Dale, please tell us about all your activities today.
