Come Apart to Stay Together

And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.
—Isaiah 32:17

If you are feeling compelled to do so much that you are physically worn out, you may be driven instead of led. Remember, you have to come apart from a busy routine before you come apart yourself. You have to get away from everything before you come apart physically, mentally, and emotionally. Give yourself time to get a good night’s sleep.

It is tempting to do everything that everybody else is doing, be involved in everything, know everything, hear everything, and be everywhere, but it isn’t God’s best for you. Be willing to separate yourself from compulsive activity before you come apart at the seams!

Spend time with God, and ask Him to give order to your day.

From the book Starting Your Day Right by Joyce Meyer.

This reminds me of the many times, I was in an anxious moment, and I had to detach, often physically, and do a meditation. I have felt the Hand of my God touch me, and I was calm from the top of my head to the tip of my toes and able to go back into the situation and handle the situation.

The worst was a girlfriend who was a multiple personality disorder and she threw a glass in the sink, picked up the glass and started cutting herself. I had no experience with such a thing, yet through my God, I was able to help her and went on to sponsor two others with the same disorder.

We don't realize it, but most of us are multiple personalities. It depends on side of us, we want people to see. Some are more split than others, due to extreme trauma and for many years, we role played.

The program works for all, my friend was clean and sober before she went back out, and she has been sober for many years.

God is there. It is up to us as to whether we reach out an connect with Him. As my sponsor use to say, "What is your motive and intent? Make things right with your God, and He will make things right."
