WE ARE GOING TO GROW
It’s springtime! New growth will begin all around us because God created our world to get warmer this time of year, to rain and to reproduce. People will begin planting and taking care of gardens. Trees and grass will turn green and other colors will begin to fill this beautiful world. It is an automatic miracle from God every spring. Similar to a garden we will grow spiritually when we get into God's word. We don’t have to wait until a certain time of year. We can get into God’s word and begin planting today! There is so much knowledge we can gain from His word that we can’t help but learn, grow and share!
SCRIPTURE:
2 Peter 1:2 “May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.” (NLT)
ACTION STEPS:
1. List what you have learned from God’s word.
2. Write down what you have applied from His word.
3. Know God wants us all to read His word and grow spiritually.
4. Pray, read His word and ask Him how to apply it to your life today.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know there is so much opportunity for growth and knowledge when we read Your word. There are nuggets of gold in Your word ready for us to read, meditate on and apply to our lives. Help us to remember if we are to grow in Your word, we need to stay in it every day. We are so blessed to have Your word and want to grow in the knowledge only Your word can provide. Thank You, Lord, for Your word, Your direction and Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
REMEMBER:
We can get into God’s word and grow every day or we can choose to continue to learn from the world and grow in it.
When we go to God for information, we can be sure He will use His word to help us grow.
God’s word is alive and powerful enough to teach and help us grow. See Hebrews 4:12
If we want to grow in knowledge of God’s word and know what is right to do, we need to have a daily personal relationship with Him.
We don’t know what we don’t know but God knows what we need to know. And He wants to share that knowledge with us from His word.
FOCUS: 1 Corinthians 8:2 “And if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.” (NKJV)
The more we learn, the more we realize what we don’t know.
