GENTLENESS

There is a time for us to be gentle and a time for us to be bold. But even when we are bold, there should be a gentleness about us. Even when we are standing up for God, we are to show gentleness and love. We can be cool with calmness and warm with love at the same time. When we are cool, we can feel God's gentleness and calmness. When we are warm, we can feel His love and goodness. God wants us to be people who get things done through gentleness and love rather than using anger and force.

Proverbs 15:18 "A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them." (NLT)

Dear Lord, help us to control our emotions by giving them to You. When we begin to feel angry about something, remind us to turn our issues over to You. When we are about to get upset about something, remind us to turn our thoughts over to You. Turning hot tempers to cool ones requires we love and obey You. Turning anger into gentleness requires we turn our attitudes and feelings over to You so You can make us as we should be. Help us to be cool with gentleness and warm with love to others today rather than hot with anger. In Jesus' name. Amen.

When we choose love and a gentle spirit, we can be the example for others that God calls us to be.

Taking time to give our issues to God will help us to remain calm and share His love with others.

Rather than getting angry today with someone, try showing compassion and love for them.

God wants us to remain cool and get things done through gentleness and love rather than hot with anger and force.

When we choose love and a gentle spirit, God can use us for great things.

1 Corinthians 4:21 "Which do you choose? Should I come with a rod to punish you, or should I come with love and a gentle spirit?" (NLT)

Focus: Let's give God our feelings so He can help us to show love and gentleness to everyone we meet.
