Flying round the light
"EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR YOU!"
MARK 1:37 NIV
Ever watched a moth fly around a light? There's the whole room to fly around in, yet they keep as close as possible to the light! Their focus never moves off the light. They stick to their agenda!
God wants you to be that focused on Him! All sorts of stuff will fly by your life, trying to distract you from Jesus. People will throw their opinions at you, trying to get you doing what they think you should be doing. Spend time with God, get to know what you should be doing from Him, and don't do anything different.
In Mark 1: 33-34 you can read how, 'The whole town gathered...and Jesus healed many'. As you can imagine, the next morning another crowd of needy people were waiting on His doorstep, but how Jesus responded this time might surprise you. 'While it was still dark, Jesus...left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed...his companions went to look for him, and when they found him they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!" Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else...so I can preach there also. That is why I have come"' (vs 35-38). What was He thinking? There were headlines to be made, fans waiting to pat Him on the back! How good would that have been? Not as good as focusing on God's plans. He wants you to do the same. Word4U2Day
