Small Straws In A Soft Wind - October

October 1: In a vision I saw an ancient scribe seated at a table with quill in hand. There was a light shining through the only window in the room. He was focused and wholly given to the task at hand as he was very careful to write only what the Lord was giving him. It was a word of encouragement from God to His people to not give up, but to stand fast in truth, power and anointing, and to live in Christ continually. And, I heard the Lord say, "I am doing a deep and profound inner work in My people that will produce purity of heart and life in the Spirit." Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.

October 2: You will begin to see the resolution of difficult problems. I will impart to you clarity in the understanding of what you can do to deal with these issues. Refuse to get mired in possibilities or probabilities. Rather, seek My face and ask for the wisdom necessary to move forward at this time, says the Lord. Never doubt that I am with you. Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

October 3: Many of you, My people, need a reset where things have become too complicated. Make an assessment and start over on a firm spiritual foundation. Separate the essentials from the trivial, and be strong. Stay with eternal and godly values as the basis for your decisions, says the Lord. You will certainly reap what you sow. Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

October 4: Pick up the pieces that resulted from the chaos in the past few months. Various areas of your life were shaken, but you must come back to the central theme of your life in Christ. Even though it may seem like you've been displaced, you can quickly and easily come back to a solid position. Re-establish your spiritual commitment to live and walk in the Spirit, says the Lord, and dismiss everything that keeps you from relationship with Me. Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

October 5: You may have been on what seemed like a roller-coaster ride, but you will now be able to regain your sense of perspective and balance. You can slow down and get into a better routine that will accommodate your desire to know Me better, says the Lord. Just settle down and refocus your efforts and spiritual intentions. Psalm 107:30 Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides them to their desired haven.

October 6: Whatever comes your way, get on top of it as quickly as possible. Don't let the enemy's tactics get you down or keep you down. I have given you authority to gain the victory over every attack. Trust Me, says the Lord, to lift you up, strengthen you, and cause you to stand strong. Just don't be afraid. Hebrews 12:12-13 Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

October 7: One day at a time, one step at a time--this is the way you proceed. The path is before you to ascend. Come up. Come higher spiritually. Seek My face continually. Listen for My voice intently. I will show you the way, says the Lord. Refuse the temptation to stay in old places of complacency and comfort. Rise up and be on your way. Matthew 7:14 "Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."

October 8: Rise up in renewed hope and set your heart on the things eternal. Refuse to get bogged down in the difficulties of every day life. Your hope is in that which transcends what you see naturally. Set your heart and mind to find spiritual reasons for fresh optimism. Come up out of the darkness of despair and breathe the fresh air of hopefulness, says the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

October 9: Be done with regrets over things in the past that are matters of personal history. You are wasting your time and energy over things you can do nothing about. Instead, evaluate where you are now and what you can do to be a solid citizen in the Kingdom of Heaven. There are plenty of decisions to be made that will strengthen your righteous position, says the Lord. Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.

October 10: Beloved, I want you to be soft yet strong; tender and at the same time tough. I would have you discern when to be silent and when to speak. There will always be moments in your life of self-assertion as well as reservation. As long as you are led by My Spirit, you will express the true response in every circumstance. I will give you divine wisdom, says the Lord. Stay connected. Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.

October 11: There are multiple things in your environment that could be the cause for concern. But, I have already instructed you not to worry. Worry will not solve any problem, but will only keep you from walking in the Spirit. Rise up out of the mire of doubt and fear and come into My presence where I can give you true wisdom and direction. The stress of anxiety will keep you from peace, says the Lord. Matthew 6:34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

October 12: Be done with contention and strife; it will only cause those relationships to deteriorate. Pay attention to your motivations and attitudes and deal with negativity by getting right with Me, says the Lord. You will either focus on differences by quarreling in the flesh, or you will live at peace through focusing on life in the Spirit. One tears apart while the other binds together. Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

October 13: You have begun to reap the harvest from what was sown during the beginning of the season that is ending. Some will experience great favor and benefit while others will endure hardship. Others will fall somewhere between those two extremes. This is a time when you would do well to learn the lessons of the harvest, says the Lord. Matthew 13:23 "But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

October 14: Build yourself up in your most holy faith. When your faith lies dormant it becomes nothing more than a memory of what you once believed and does not produce fruit. True and vital relationship with Me requires the activity produced by your belief that I exist and that I am with you, says the Lord. Examine yourself to see what you actually believe. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

October 15: This is a time of preparation in which you can consider the best course of action for your future. The decisions that you make at this time will produce long-term consequences, so make wise choices. Ask for the wisdom you need in every situation and be assured that I will answer, says the Lord. Proceed with the assurance that I am with you. Proverbs 23:19 Hear, my son, and be wise; and guide your heart in the way.

October 16: Refuse to allow the circumstances of life to swallow you up so that you lose perspective. There are things to do, but everything must be done from a position of order instead of chaos. Be thoughtful in your process and apply divine wisdom. Establish and maintain a solid connection with Me, says the Lord, and I will guide you. Stay calm. 1 Corinthians 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

October 17: Beloved, I have created you to be resilient, and I will lift you to a place spiritually where you can bounce back from difficult conditions. However, you must exercise your will to move forward by not taking the victim position. Take one step at a time and one day at a time to regain faith and power, says the Lord. Be strong. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

October 18: Endeavor to walk in the strength of My Spirit, says the Lord. It is My desire for each of you, My people, to walk in the newness of the Spirit instead of falling back on religious rhetoric. When you stop living and walking in the Spirit, you will find yourself in the flesh. Seek My face and know My heart at all times. Romans 7:6 But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

October 19: In the midst of uncertainty, I would have you express honesty and integrity in everything. Keep things as pure and simple as possible. It is when life becomes convoluted that you are in danger of compromising the values of Kingdom life, says the Lord. Stay close to Me and be aware of pitfalls that exist in your environment. Titus 2:7-8 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

October 20: Some of you, My people, tend to trust Me for the big things, but not the little things. And, some trust Me for the little things, but not the big things. But, I want you to begin to deliberately come to a place of faith and trust in all things. Depend on Me for wisdom, direction, and the power to overcome, says the Lord. James 1:6-8 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

October 21: In a vision I saw a carousel going round and round with the horses of various, bright colors going up and down as the music played in the background. I asked the Lord what the vision meant, and He said that the circus of life and circumstances are like this carousel. It seems exciting and fun at first, but it becomes very monotonous and routine. You can get off of this merry-go-round any time you want to and be about My business. But, you will have to do so deliberately and refocus your attention. Acts 17:28a "for in Him we live and move and have our being."

October 22: Be aware of the factors in your environment that can derail your faith and spiritual progression. You must make every effort to anchor yourself on the firm foundation of life in Christ. It is easy to be distracted, so set your heart and mind on eternal truth, says the Lord. John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

October 23: Stay strong and stand on the righteous principles of My word, says the Lord. There are elements in the world around you that will chip away at your values and morality, but you must maintain your spiritual integrity. Make a determination to always do what is right and good. Psalm 34:14 Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

October 24: Watch for and resist the deceptions and temptations of the enemy. Those cleverly designed plans are for the purpose of taking you into captivity. Sin opens the door to demonic activity. Your freedom depends on your ability to choose righteousness and stay connected to Me, says the Lord. Romans 6:20-22 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.

October 25: Protect and keep yourself from hatred, strife and contention. My kingdom is about your love for Me and your love for others. Do not allow anything to derail your compassion and empathy for all people. Let your light shine in darkness, even the deep darkness that covers the earth, says the Lord. Glorify Me with your righteous attitudes and good works. Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

October 26: These are the days of breaking through the darkness of your own soul and spirit. Honest internal work is required before you can actually see what is keeping you from the light of My presence. It is My will for you to live and walk in the light so that you can actually be the light of the world, says the Lord. Be done with evil intentions. Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

October 27: The way has been made for you to live according to the dictates of My word and purposes for you. The only thing that can hold you back is your carnal nature. You must desire My kingdom, see the truth, and follow where I lead. I have given you the ability to overcome any obstacle that would keep you from complete unity with Me, says the Lord. John 17:22 "And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

October 28: Stay on point, and refuse to deviate from what I have set you to do and to be. Your worldly existence is fraught with diversions that will cause you to deviate from what matters. And, those distractions will not produce spiritual fruit. Renew yourself in what you know by the Spirit so that you can get on track and stay the course, says the Lord. Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established.

October 29: Follow My process and be led by the Holy Spirit. He will lead and guide you into the fullness of this season. He will reveal His path to you and show you the way in which to go. He will reveal that which is hidden so that you will have spiritual understanding of the things that are going on around you. 1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God.

October 30: Be strong and unwavering in your devotion. Do not deviate from spiritual truth and righteousness. Your relationship with Me is the most important aspect of your life, says the Lord. Guard and protect that connection with every fiber of your being. Your life depends on it to not only survive but to thrive. Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

October 31: You have every opportunity to see the worst in people or to see the best in people. Neither position gives you a clear picture in your judgment of others. Everyone has to endure challenges in life, and everyone makes mistakes. You would do well to see others through My eyes, says the Lord. That is to know My love and to apply mercy. Be generous in your evaluations. Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."
