It’s your choice

Right now, or three hours from now, or fourteen days from now, you have a choice. At any point in time, you can continue the way you’re going or you can choose a different path.

When you’re bound by seemingly endless obligations and limitations, you can choose how to think of them and how you will handle them. No matter how others treat you, or how outside events unfold, you can choose your next thought, your next move.

In what specific direction are your current choices leading you? Ask yourself and be honest, is that really where you wish to go?

You’ve spent a lifetime experiencing what works and what doesn’t, and in every moment going forward you have a choice. That’s an increasingly powerful combination.

Continue making the choices that serve you well. Quickly change the ones that don’t.

How is this day, this year, this life going to be? It’s your choice.

Give now a chance

Don’t wait for something better. Allow this present moment to be the better experience you desire.

Right now is perfectly capable of holding all the joy, beauty, and fulfillment you can imagine. Rather than longing for the past or wishing for the future, give now a chance.

Let go of judgments about what should and shouldn’t be. Choose to see the great value in front of you, and enlarge it.

Every feeling you can dream of experiencing, is possible now. All the love you can possibly give, you can give now.

Let love and gratitude push doubt and dismay out of your awareness. Every possibility that exists, is now.

Give now a chance, now. And give yourself the rich life you deserve.

Buy in

Don’t be half-hearted about what you do. If you’re going to take on the job, make sure you buy in to the job.

Before you start, fully accept that the work must be done and that you’re the person who will do it. Then you won’t waste time fighting against yourself.

Convince yourself of the necessity, of your desire, of your choice to make the commitment. Then put all your focus and energy into honoring that commitment.

Spend your time making progress rather than making excuses. Fill your awareness with ideas and strategies rather than resentment and doubt.

You don’t have to like everything you do, or even completely agree with what it is or how it’s done. What’s important is that you accept responsibility, within yourself, to do it.

Do yourself and everyone else a favor. If you’re going to take on the task, then choose to do it wholeheartedly.

Prepared for opportunity

You cannot run and catch up to an opportunity you’ve already missed. Yet you can prepare yourself for the next one that is sure to come along.

The reason you missed that last opportunity is because you didn’t recognize it soon enough. The time to seize an opportunity is before it has paid off.

Opportunity is not a free ride that’s available only to those who are lucky or well connected. Opportunity is a fertile situation where value can be created, available to those who are willing to take the risk and do the work.

You see what you look for. To see opportunity, look for ways to help others, to create value, to make life more fulfilling and enjoyable, to solve problems, to learn and grow.

Prepare yourself by choosing to be generous, optimistic, enthusiastic, and willing to see the best possibilities. Opportunity emerges from a positive-facing perspective, so get yourself there.

The next opportunity is on the way. Get yourself in its path, ready to give your best.

Cheerful about it

When you don’t get your way, be cheerful about it. There’s no good reason to be any other way.

Being angry, spiteful, resentful, despondent, destroys you’re effectiveness and repels other people. That’s not going to accomplish anything good.

You can’t change the past by being angry about it. What you can do is dramatically improve the present and the future by being cheerful.

Be cheerful and you do better work, attract positive people, improve your relationships and interactions. Be cheerful, and see opportunities that you’d otherwise never notice.

Be cheerful, and escape being sizzled by stress and paralyzed by anxiety. Be cheerful, and reap all the benefits of truly enjoying the moment you’re in.

Yes, by all means be realistic. At the same time, be cheerful, and position yourself to make the very best of reality.

Start doing

What have you been waiting to do, wishing you would start, hoping you could complete? Today is your opportunity to make it happen.

Any hesitation or doubt you’ve experienced in the past is now gone. Confidently breathe in the fresh, energizing air of this new moment, and get to work.

You don’t have to be stopped by your fear of potential problems. Just be willing to deal with whatever issues arise, when they arise.

You’ve held yourself back long enough. Give yourself the maximum amount of time to live the life you wish to live, by acting on it now.

Your best goals and dreams deserve to be transformed into reality. You deserve the incomparable experience of making that happen.

Today is your day to stop waiting and start doing. Go ahead, and allow yourself to give your best.

Challenges in front of you

Don’t drag old troubles along from yesterday. Don’t borrow imagined troubles from tomorrow.

Focus on the challenges in front of you. Work on the affairs in which you can make a positive difference.

Cleanse your awareness of the things you can’t do anything about. Enable yourself to direct all your energy toward making meaningful progress.

Rise above any disappointments you may be holding on to. What matter most now are the good things you can do to move life forward.

Let go of the need to impress, of any worries about what others will think. Replace them with confidence that your actions are good, valuable and productive, right for you and your world.

Offer full attention and persistent action to the challenges in front of you, and to the opportunities they represent. Reap the rewards of focusing your power where it matters most.

All of it is magic

Green leaves dance with violet flowers in a gentle breeze. Cool water sings without ceasing as it cascades through the rocky riverbed.

Delicate white clouds glide across a dome of brilliant blue. Everywhere, all the time, the genuine magic of life emerges into awareness.

There are things you can never know, and yet you know them so well. There are places you’ve never been, where you always long to return.

The silent shadow of a hawk floats across the afternoon. If you let it, life will amaze you, even when it doesn’t.

The silence, the commotion, brilliance and darkness, all have their parts to play. A baby is born, a galaxy explodes, some things we understand, some we don’t, and all of it is magic.

Let the magic fill you so much it spills out from you all the time. It is at the very heart of who you truly are.

Endless abundance

Live this day in awe. Live this day with love, gratitude, respect, and kindness.

Point your awareness toward all that is good and right about the people and situations you encounter. Open your mind, your heart, your spirit to the highest possibilities in each moment.

Let go of whatever separates you from the peace that lives within. Remember always to make good use of your power to learn, to think, to choose, to act.

Invest your energy in thoughts, feelings, and actions that enrich the lives around you. Take time to fully experience how good it is to be.

Invite serenity into each moment, each thought, encounter, and activity. Live with intention, confidence, and loving purpose.

Go beyond limitations that seem so real but that exist only on the surface. Dive deeply into the endless abundance that flows from the truth of who you are.

Avoid regret

The best way to deal with regret is to avoid creating it in the first place. If you know you’ll regret it, don’t do it.

In fact, a great way to make choices is to ask yourself whether or not you will regret it later. Words that have been spoken cannot be unspoken, and actions that have been taken cannot be taken back.

Yet you can always contemplate those words and actions before you commit to them. You can envision the long-term effects they will have.

Regret, once created, never completely goes away. Choose, as often as possible, not to create it to begin with.

Rather than being burdened with regret, you can be filled with satisfaction for the life you’re living. Rather than facing difficult consequences for the choices you’ve made, you can be enjoying magnificent rewards.

Make regret your friend by making it preventative rather than punitive. Think long into the future before you act, and live a life with no regrets.

Forgive and get beyond it

You can’t change unfortunate things that have already happened. What you can do is forgive, and move on.

Forgive yourself, forgive others, forgive whoever and whatever caused it to happen. Forgive, and get beyond it.

The longer you carry a grudge, the heavier it gets. Forgiveness lightens your load, frees your energy for more positive pursuits.

Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. It brings you peace, resolution, and freedom.

Forgiveness puts you in control of how you feel. Forgive, and experience the positive power.

The pains of your past have already continued long enough. Forgive, be finally done with those pains, and allow new joys to take their place.

Care in action

Care, even if nobody is looking. Care, even when there’s no possibility anyone will ever know.

Care, because it is the right thing to do, not because it looks good. Care, without caring so much about who gets credit.

Care, by doing more than just clicking a button in support of a cause. Care by taking action, not merely by saying you care.

Caring can be painful, burdensome, inconvenient, frustrating, and at the same time, fulfilling. Genuine caring feels good, and right.

Care, make a positive connection to all that is, and gain a new sense of purpose. Care, and be a conduit through which life supports, heals, nourishes, encourages, renews and rewards itself.

Care, and let it bring out your best. Care, and learn how vital and loving you can be.

Good can come from it

What if the problem is not really a problem? What if that’s just the way you’ve chosen to see it?

What if the difficulty might eventually turn out to be helpful? What if the disappointment could soon lead to a valuable gain?

Step back from your assumptions. Imagine differently, optimistically, with confidence and a positive perspective.

See your situation as it is. Then envision a whole set of favorable possibilities flowing out of it.

You have an opportunity here. The future has not happened, and what you do right now will have an impact on how your future plays out.

Acknowledge reality while also seeing the good things that can come from it. Now, get to work making those good things happen.

Going to the trouble

Living a productive, successful day can be a lot of trouble. Go to the trouble.

Getting yourself in a good place physically, financially, spiritually, requires a good bit of trouble. It’s well worth the trouble.

Value does not appear in your life simply because you think of it and desire it. You have to work it into existence.

Do you ever feel like you don’t want to go to the trouble to do something? That’s a good sign that you’ll benefit greatly from going ahead with the effort anyway.

What seems like trouble before you do it can quickly turn into enthusiastic action once you get started. After you get the work done, you’ll wonder why you ever hesitated in the first place.

Make it your business to go to the trouble. And make a great life for yourself and others.

Higher version of reality

Allow all to be right with life, right now. It’s not really so hard to do.

You cannot change anything about what has already happened, so choose to let it be. This moment is not perfect, yet it’s the one you have, so recognize the goodness in it.

Allowing all to be right with life is not a matter of being naive or denying reality. Indeed, it is the acknowledgement of a higher version of reality.

In every difficulty is the opportunity to give love, to offer hope, to engage in positive effort. In every challenge are real possibilities for progress and new value.

Allow all to be right with life, and connect yourself with those possibilities. See today from a higher perspective, and expand upon the goodness that’s already present.

Fix your awareness on a higher version of reality, in which all is right with life. Let yourself be energized to make a positive difference in everything you do.

Maybe

Maybe you don’t have to answer the phone every time it rings. Maybe you don’t need to squeeze every last penny of profit out of your efforts.

Maybe a day in the sunshine would clarify your thoughts. Maybe a swim in the ocean would energize your passion.

Maybe those conditions you’ve been putting on happiness, you’d be better off without. Maybe joy can be lived right here and now, without waiting for where you think you need to be.

Maybe doing the difficult, challenging work will actually turn out to be fun. Maybe commitment, responsibility, discipline, and effort will raise your life to a new level of enjoyment.

Maybe some of the opinions you so staunchly defend could benefit from some challenges and revisions. Maybe you’d actually be okay if you could let go of the need to prove you’re right.

Maybe life can be a whole lot better than you’ve ever thought it could be. Maybe today is a great day to find out.

Beyond the horizon

Today would be a good day to consider possibilities you’ve never considered before. Now would be a great time to explore some new options.

It’s all too easy to get comfortable where you are, doing what you’ve always done. The problem is, if you keep ignoring other options, those options will start to disappear.

You’re smart to stick with what works. But don’t stick to it so relentlessly that you get stuck.

Make a point to widen your awareness. Go out and see what’s beyond the horizon that’s become so comfortably familiar.

Somewhere out there are things you’ve never experienced, that you would surely love. Beyond your current awareness are people, places, ideas, groups, and activities that may very well change your life.

You already know a great deal, yet you certainly don’t know it all. Take a little time to discover a little more, and add new richness to the exquisite experience that is your life.

Smile at the disruptions

Something will interrupt your concentration today. Decide right now that you’ll take it in stride.

Some situation won’t turn out the way you planned. Whatever it may be, make the commitment to take it in stride.

You have every right to be upset, flustered, frustrated when life doesn’t go the way you want. Yet you never have to exercise that right.

You can choose instead to take it in stride. Rather than wasting your time and energy, you can quickly adjust to the new development and keep going.

Feeling upset and sorry for yourself never gained you anything in the past, and it won’t help you now. What will help is your determination to smile at the disruptions while you stick firmly with your original purpose.

Smile at the disruptions, take them in stride. And you’ll quickly put them behind you.

Consistent effort

Occasional effort can create the illusion of success. Consistent effort is what brings lasting success, achievement, fulfillment.

Are you working out once or twice every couple of weeks, or every day? Are you writing a chapter just when you feel like it, or every morning before breakfast?

Your life is too precious to merely dabble. In work, in play, in health, wisdom and relationships, you deserve the luscious fruits that consistent effort will bring.

A single heroic effort might be fun and impressive, but is soon forgotten. Yet small, unassuming efforts, when repeated with consistency, can bring a never-ending stream of value.

If you’ve done it once, you can do it again, and again. When you do, great things result.

Give your life and your world the benefit of your best effort, not once, not twice, but over and over again. With consistent effort, build a path all the way to your most treasured dreams.

Savor the journey

Don’t let yourself become too obsessed with hurrying to get there. While you’re on the way, savor the journey.

Go fast enough to get it done, but slow enough to do it well. Do what you must to achieve the goal, while enjoying all the richness you find in the effort.

Sometimes the road is more interesting and fulfilling than the destination to where it leads. Often what you learn along the way is more valuable than what you find when you get there.

Rushing ahead of everyone else is not an indication of how enlightened or important someone is. It’s actually a sign of ignorance and insecurity.

Be confident enough to make the journey at an enjoyable, sustainable pace. Be smart enough to understand how much value can be created and collected along the way.

Keep going, steadily, and you’ll get there. As you do, savor the journey, every step of the way.

The world needs much more of the good work you can do. So encourage yourself in the best ways you know.

It’s not selfish to be good to yourself. It’s smart to be supportive of your own good efforts.

Power of your thoughts

If you are in good physical condition, you can make your way up a long, steep hill. But only if you think you can.

Your thoughts give you access to what is possible. Your thoughts put you in the frame of mind to achieve what you choose.

You are the vehicle through which good things can come. Your thoughts are what power that vehicle and determine its direction.

Negative, low-energy thoughts result in low-energy action. Positive, uplifting thoughts can make you unstoppable.

It’s really very easy to choose your thoughts. And by choosing your thoughts you are choosing the way your life proceeds.

What are you thinking, what will you think today? The choice is yours, and it matters very much.

The benefit of kindness

Kindness may not be the easiest thing to do. Yet it is the right thing to do.

When you’re not sure what choice to make, choose kindness. It is always a choice you can live with.

Kindness requires no lengthy explanations or excuses. The value, the power, the authenticity of kindness are immediately self-evident.

Yet true kindness is not ever done for show or for glory. Kindness is done to lift up and enhance the experience of life for everyone involved.

Your kindness will not always be repaid. But that doesn’t matter because its value to you begins the moment you act.

Genuine kindness connects you to others in a way nothing else can. At every opportunity, give yourself the benefit of that connection.

Every experience

Don’t get caught up in judging whether one experience is more interesting, beneficial, worthwhile than another. Every experience is part of the adventure.

From every experience you gain insight, wisdom, and the strength to bring new goodness to life. Every experience gives you the opportunity to make a positive contribution to your own life and to others.

You cannot possibly know all the ways that whatever you’re experiencing right now will benefit you and add value to your life in years to come. So live this moment with the full faith and confidence that it is worth all the attention, effort, and love you can give it.

Look back, and you’ll understand that some of your most difficult times have resulted in your most useful strengths. Those past challenges, frustrations, and setbacks provided you with valuable raw material from which to build a full, rich life.

How utterly boring a story would be if only good things ever happened in it. How shallow and empty your relationships would be if they had not been tested and deepened by difficult experiences.

Get out there and immerse yourself completely in the experience that is right now. Know that you will find the good in it, and know that you will grow stronger from it.

Another path

Make the effort, expect to achieve. But don’t expect the achievement to unfold exactly the way you thought it would.

Plan carefully, without getting trapped by your plan. Pay attention to the plan, and pay even more attention to where the plan leads.

Don’t ignore opportunities, ideas, approaches just because you didn’t think of them when formulating your plan. Go with what actually works, not just with what you thought would work.

Be uncompromising about the goal. Be flexible about the way you get there.

Even when the path you’ve chosen is blocked, you can still reach the destination. There is another path, another approach that will bring you to the place you intend to go.

Keep up the effort, know that you can find that path, that you can travel that path. And you will.

Problems no more

What makes something a problem is not the reality of the situation. What makes it a problem is your perception of it.

A smooth stone on the bottom of a riverbed does not have any problems. A star lighting up its own corner of the universe has no problems.

Each problem is a problem because you think it is a problem. Yet you can think differently.

You can choose not to label it as a problem. You can decide to focus on the benefits and opportunities in the situation.

You can work to embrace those benefits and to fulfill those opportunities. You can allow yourself to access more of the resources available to you, more of the knowledge and wisdom that can be yours.

Remind yourself of all you are, of all you can do, of all you know and love, of all to which you are connected. And problems are problems no more.

Allow yourself to be

You are happy only when you allow yourself to be happy. You are happy always when you allow yourself to be happy.

You learn, heal, achieve, and make progress by allowing yourself to do so. You experience peace by allowing peace into every corner of your awareness.

The life you allow to unfold within you is the life you live. Let go of need, of striving, of envy, ego, and fear, and allow yourself to allow.

You cannot fight your way to fulfillment, and chasing what you seek only pushes it away. Stop fighting, stop chasing, and allow.

Allow yourself to be your highest vision of yourself, today. Allow life to be the best you know it can be, now, in this place, in this circumstance.

Discard the conditional thinking that falsely imprisons your beautiful spirit. Allow, and live the magnificent truth of all you are.

Authentic desire

Admit to yourself what you really, truly desire. In the truth and authenticity of your desire exists more than enough energy to make it happen.

Let go of the desires you’ve borrowed just because they are trendy or impressive. Let your heart point the way to what matters.

When it is painful for you to not be following, supporting, committed to what you desire, you know that’s a genuine desire. Do the work, live the effort to zero in on those things you love so intensely you must give yourself to their fulfillment.

Your time has incalculable value. To feel profoundly good about yourself, spend your time and energy on the outcomes, achievements, and purposes you love and desire.

Remind yourself that the desire to matter, to make a difference in your own unique way, lives at your core. Seek out positive, beneficial ways to satisfy that desire in all you do.

Transform disappointment

Life will sometimes disappoint you. Embrace the disappointment, and transform it into inspiration.

When you feel disappointment, it means you know things could have been, and can be, better. Take hold of that vision, and work on bringing it fully to life.

Disappointment enables you to experience firsthand what you don’t want. Use that experience to develop new clarity about what you do want.

No disappointment ever has to be permanent. Take what is positive, informative, and motivating in each disappointment, and leave the rest behind.

Look for opportunities to channel disappointment into positive action. Though you can’t do anything about what has already happened, you can choose what you do with it.

Feel the disappointment, then gather all the energy in that feeling and put it to good use. You’ll soon leave the disappointment far behind as you move forward to do great things.
