BITTER JEALOUSY
No matter what we do in life or what we have, there will always be someone who appears to have it better. There will always be someone who enjoys life more. There will always be someone who has a better family life. There will always be someone who has a better job, gets more pay or has more things. Rather than being bitter towards them because they have more, we are to love them. If we are carrying any bitter jealously toward another today, we need to go to God now and ask for His forgiveness.
Acts 8:22-23 “Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts, for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.” (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know we are quick to get jealous. We are quick to think about our own needs rather than the needs of others. We are quick to be selfish and want what others have. It is so easy to be held captive by sin because we get wrapped up in the things of the world. That is what Satan wants. We pray today You will break our chains that Satan so easily wraps around us and free us from the bonds of jealousy. Free us and forgive us for our wrong selfish thoughts. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Whatever bitter jealousy we have toward another is not healthy for our hearts or our minds.
Satan wants us to have bitter jealousy toward others so we don’t think about showing them love and kindness.
When we have a selfish and jealous attitude toward others, ain’t nobody happy but Satan.
Jealousy only creates bitterness and disorder in life.
Focusing on jealousy takes our focus off of doing good.
James 3:16 “For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.” (NLT)
Focus: Rather than showing jealousy toward another, ask God to forgive your wrong thoughts and show you how to share His love.
