Hi,
How are you? Nice to meet you. I've been sober since February 2015, not sure which day since I was so absorbed in keeping sober. Am I the only one that does not know which exact day I started keeping sober? Just wondering.

I'm so grateful for this forum and I'm starting to go to AA tonight. Wish me luck!

Welcome abcde, so glad you made the decision to join us. In AA they say, if you can't remember your last drunk, you haven't had it.

We are all different. I reached out and asked for help on August 8th, so that date is what is special for me. I had a glass of wine with a friend who was leaving to go back to Hawaii. We met at college. I didn't have a drink after that. I started detoxing from my medication that day too and took the last pill the day I went into treatment in November 2nd. I stopped abusing my medication and stopped all narcotics. Pills were like dried up alcohol to me.

Hopefully you can come up with a date, so you can celebrate at your home group. We don't do it for ourselves, we do it for others to show them that the program works.
