My nephew went into surgery at 6 am this morning in Omaha, NE. The surgery will last 6 to 12 hours. He has been on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Today it is finally happening. Please pray for him, the surgeons, nurses, operating room people, and that Ben's body will not reject the new liver.
Thanks for your prayers! :195:

Dave,
I just saw this.....prayers that the surgery went successfully and your nephew's body doesn't reject the new liver. :42:

Update, Ben's surgery went well. There are no signs of rejection. He got some fluid in one of his lungs that they are going to drain. It should help with the pain he's been having. Relieved to have an answer regarding the source of his pain and discomfort. He will remain at the hospital a few days longer. All the numbers pertaining to his liver are just great. Now its more about healing in general. It turns out, two major surgeries in a short amout of time...is hard on a person.
Here's a picture of Ben on his first trip outside after his transplant.

Thanks for the update. I was going to ask the other day, but forgot to follow thought with action. A prayer is a thought, and I will continue to pray for him. Great picture, thanks for sharing.
