WHERE DO WE GO

There are many avenues of training. We can receive informal training through a conversation with someone or observing what they do. We can receive formal training in school or a seminar. We can receive mentoring where someone shares their experiences with us. We can take online classes, read books, or interview others. The types of training are endless. To obtain training from God, where we go for training is completely up to us. We can sit in a quiet place and train from God’s word. We can go to a seminar and listen to a speaker. We can go to church in a small group and learn from others. We can sit in worship service and listen to a preacher. The places we go to train are endless but the focus of our training should always be from God. He wants us to know we can learn from Him right where we are just as well as we can in a large group of people in a public place. The important thing is that we go and we train to know more about Him and do His will.

SCRIPTURE:
Luke 2:46 “Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. List some different ways of training.
2. Write out ways of training you prefer.
3. Get started training in God’s word.
4. Make a point to train from His word daily.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help us not to get bogged down in the different ways of training. We want to train to know more about You and to do Your will; however, we don’t want to get too focused on the “how” that we don’t get started right away. Show us, today, Lord what we can train on from Your word so we can apply it to our lives and live for You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
We have opportunities to be trained in many avenues. Seeking those opportunities every day is how we grow.

The places we go to train are endless but the focus of our training should always be on God.

When we study God’s word, we will find comfort, knowledge, wisdom, hope and much more!

We don’t have to be in a formal setting to be trained by God. He wants us to learn from Him every day.

When Jesus was young He went to religious leaders at the Temple because He wanted to stay focused on God and do His will.

FOCUS: Psalm 143:10 “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing.” (NLT)

God is our best Teacher but we have to be willing to trained by Him.
