SPIRITUAL HEART
“Clearly, you are a letter from Christ showing the result of our ministry among you. This “letter” is written not with pen and ink, but with the Spirit of the living God. It is carved not on tablets of stone, but on human hearts.” 2 Corinthians 3:3 (NLT)

Today’s Thought:
A Spiritual Heart is actually a letter of recommendation of the Christian life. It is God’s love showing forth that others can see and read.
When non-believers see a Spiritual Heart they will see a living testimony of what a true believer’s life is like.

Prayer of the Heart to the Lord:
Dear Lord, today I ask that You create in me a Spiritual Heart so I can be Your letter known and read by all.
I want to have a Spiritual Heart that recommends You and reflects Your word in action to everyone I meet.
I want Your Spirit to write on my heart a living testimony that the world will read and remember. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

"Have you been trying to do something and it seems like there are roadblocks that pop up each way you turn? There are times that God tries to tell us "not yet" or that He needs us to do something else first. In either case, He doesn't want us to give up. We may need to take a detour or try again another day but if we trust in Him, we will ultimately get to where He wants us to be."

Today's Prayer

Father, many times it seems like I hit roadblocks when I try to go somewhere or do something in my life. When this happens, I try not to get upset as I know that I am where I am supposed to be in Your eyes. Following the example set by Paul, I keep trying to move forward, allowing Your hand to guide my path as I do. Amen.

Today’s Scripture: “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” (Proverbs 12:18, NIV)

Healing Words

The Bible tells us that life and death are in the power of our words. We can use our words to build people up and encourage them, or we can just as easily bring them down. When we use our words to bring healing, the Bible says that we are wise.

Choose to be wise today and choose healing words. Look for the best in others and build them up. Choose life-giving words over gossip; choose words of freedom and peace over anger and judgment. Let your words encourage others by speaking strength, hope and victory.

Remember, words are seeds. When you use your words to bring healing, you’ll reap a harvest of health, strength and life in return.

A Prayer for Today: “Father, today I choose to be wise and bring healing to others with my words. I ask for an increase of Your power and ability in my life so that I can live to honor You in all I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Have you experience a difficulty lately? It can sometimes feel like there’s no hope or that you’re all alone when life seems tough.

Today’s verse brings us some comfort, however. That no matter what you’re facing you’re not alone. God is right there with you, ready to comfort you. God knows how to comfort you, in ways that help you the most.

Also, we see from this verse that we don’t have to fear. It can be scary when life seems overwhelming. But the good news is that we don’t have to be afraid. God has our answer, so we can rest in Him.

So today, be encouraged. You’re not facing trouble alone. You have supernatural help, comfort, and peace. God has your answer, all you have to do is believe and trust in Him. He will see you through!

Prayer for Sunday Worship

O God, who makes us glad with the weekly remembrance of the glorious resurrection of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ; Give me this day such blessings through my worship of you, that the days to come may be spent in your service; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Meditation

[Let me become obedient in all ways.]

Almighty God, who does freely pardon all who repent and turn to Him, now fulfill in my contrite heart the promise of redeeming grace; forgiving all my sins, and cleansing me from an evil conscience; through the perfect sacrifice of Christ Jesus our Lord. And turn my heart to your will at every moment, I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, do I turn to You only in times of crisis, and then complain because I do not "hear" Your voice? Remind me that You have not moved; rather it is I who have distanced myself from You. ... How can I expect to recognize Your Holy Spirit's leading if I spend so little time with You? ... Oh Lord, help me to spend more time with You daily, in reading Your Word and in prayer. Help me to count my blessings, for I always have some. Only then will I be able to recognize Your guidance, to be responsive to Your call, to begin to understand Your plan for my life, and to feel a "oneness" with You.

In Your name I pray.

Almighty God, I pray that thou wilt sustain me when I may be enduring for a purpose, and to accomplish it seems beyond my strength. Renew me with courage, and give me unceasing hope, and faith that is able to hold out to the end. Amen.

Father, it is true, I can’t do a solitary thing on my own: I listen, and then I decide. I’m not out to get my own way but only to carry out Your orders.
