Blessing: Increased Blessings Upon Us and Our Children

Message:
What a wonderful blessing this is for us who fear the LORD! There seems to be no limit to the Lord’s blessings for us and for our children also!
Let us rejoice as we fear Him daily for He is truly an awesome God!

May the LORD give you increase more and more, You and your children. May you be blessed by the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:14-15

Today’s Scripture: "Since we have the same spirit of faith…we also believe, and so we also speak." (2 Corinthians 4:13, ESV)

Say What?

Scripture says, “The spirit of faith is in our words.” My question today is, “What’s coming out of your mouth?” Are you talking about how big your problems are, or are you talking about how big your God is?

As believers, our attitude should always be an attitude of praise—“Father, business may be slow, but I want to thank You that You’re supplying all of my needs.” “My circumstance may seem impossible, but thank You, God, that all things are possible with You!” We should always find a reason to give thanks!

This is what Jonah did. After complaining for eight verses, he had a change of heart in verse nine. He said, “God, in spite of my difficulties, I’m going to offer unto You the sacrifice of praise with a voice of thanksgiving.” While sitting in the belly of the whale, instead of complaining, he began to worship. The next verse says that the whale spit him out onto dry ground, and he went on to fulfill his destiny.

If you feel like you’re in the belly of a whale, if you feel trapped, if things seem dark, remember, praise always precedes the victory! Open your mouth and declare His praises! Say what the Word says and watch the breakthrough come to pass!

A Prayer for Today: Father God, I humbly come to You in the precious name of Jesus Christ. I commit my words and thoughts to You. I choose to say what the Word says. I choose to speak the truth and trust that You are working for my good in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Scaredy-Bear

READ: Matthew 6:25-34

Do not worry. —Matthew 6:25

Jack, a 15-pound, orange and white cat, took seriously his job of guarding his owners’ backyard in New Jersey. He often scared small animal intruders away, but the owners were surprised when one day they found him sitting at the base of a tall tree, looking up at a large black bear.

Jack hissed at the bear as it wandered into the yard from the nearby woods. The scared bear quickly climbed up a tree. How could a big black bear be afraid of a little kitty? What was he thinking!

Even more absurd are our thoughts of worry and fear when we consider that we have a powerful and good God who cares for us. Jesus told His disciples, “Do not worry . . .” (Matt. 6:25,31,34). He said we don’t have to be fearful or worried, because our heavenly Father knows our needs, and we are valued by Him (vv.26,32). He is perfectly willing and able to meet our needs.

When something concerns us, what’s our perspective? It’s not what we see but how we see it that reveals our attitude. If we look at life through the lens of our powerful and good God, we’ll trust Him instead of fearfully worrying. When our perspective is right, we can see God and His faithful provision. —Anne Cetas

Today’s Scripture: "...Anyone who drinks the water I give will never thirst—not ever. The water I give will be an artesian spring within, gushing fountains of endless life." (John 4:14, MSG)

The Spring of Laughter

When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, God puts within you an eternal well that will never run dry. You have an unlimited supply of good things inside you which should be continually bubbling out of you. But Satan doesn't want your joy, happiness or laughter to flow freely. So he comes along and throws a stone of, say, worry into your well. You may think, "That's just one little stone. It's not hurting anything. The water is still flowing pretty well." But Satan will be back soon with another stone, whether it's fear, self-pity or hopelessness. If you haven't dealt individually with each of these stones and gotten rid of them, your nice, free-flowing well of good things will become clogged. Take the time today and every day to evaluate your well. Ask God to give you revelation and help you keep your well clean!

A Prayer for Today: "Lord, thank You for the spring of eternal life and joy that You have placed within me. Help me deal with the stones that can block the free flow of goodness, joy and laughter in Jesus' name. Amen."

Watch and Pray by Joyce Meyer

Suppose you knew your house was surrounded by thieves, and at any moment they might break through the door and attack you. Do you think you’d be likely to stay awake and watch the door?

What would you do if for some reason you couldn't stay awake and watch? Wouldn't you make sure someone else in your house was awake and alerted to the danger?

Just like we’re careful to guard our homes, we need to be careful to guard our hearts against any attacks from the enemy of our soul. The devil is out to destroy us, so we need to watch and pray at all times, looking to God for help when we feel weak.

When you feel willing but exhausted, ask God to give you the strength you need to overcome any temptation or attack the enemy brings your way. As you take refuge in Him, He’s promised to help you and rescue you, so you can trust Him (see Psalm 37:40).

Prayer Starter: Father, please help me to be aware and intentional to stay on guard against the enemy’s attacks. Thank You for watching out for me and always being there to help. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Praise and Thanks this Morning

Hallelujah! The sun has risen again and it is morning! And I have awoken into it, alive, breathing, thinking, knowing that the Son will rise again and I will be saved. What did I do to deserve this day? It is a gift from you. Glory and praise to you, my God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for filling me with life to live another day, for it is you who made me and not me myself.

I resolve to spend this day in the presence of the Holy Spirit, filled with his joy and energy, that I might accomplish your will, my God, and do what I can to deserve the joys of the day, for I know my time here is short. Be with me, oh Holy Spirit, to fill me with the energy and positivity and comfort that only you can bring. In Christ's name I pray that thy will be done, Amen.

To Help Everyone I Meet

Holy God, I pray that today the love I show to my fellow man will not be a sham, but fashioned in a sincere heart; may your Holy Spirit be powerful in me, blinding me to annoyances and putting aside selfish greed, so that I may lift up the people I meet, showing them warm affection and leaving them filled with good spirits and confidence. If they are sorrowful, lead me to console them. If they are lost, let me show them the path. Dear heavenly Father, I am thankful for all that You have provided for me. Help me not to be stressful, when I have need of certain things and I do not see how they will be supplied. My trust is in You and I know that You will never leave me nor forsake me. Lord, I am grateful for a peaceful home. Fill all who visit our home with Your peace. Let us serve those that You send to our house. Lord, I pray for marriages that are hurting because of so much stress. Show them the changes that they need to make, and give them the grace to make them. May Your peace permeate the whole body of Christ as You have intended. I ask this in Your name. Amen.
