STEP ELEVEN: Sought through prayer and
meditation to improve our conscious contact
with God as we understood Him, praying only
for knowledge of His will for us and the
power to carry that out.

"We discover that we do receive guidance
for our lives to just about the extent that
we stop making demands upon God to give it to
us on order and on our terms. Almost any
experienced A.A. will tell how his affairs
have taken remarkable and unexpected turns
for the better as he tried to improve his
conscious contact with God."

as the scientist who refused to perform a certain experiment
lest it prove his pet theory wrong. Of course we did finally
experiment, and when unexpected results followed, we felt
different; in fact, we knew different; and so we were sold
on meditation and prayer."
