Remember the Good

Remember the Good by Victoria Osteen

In life, we all face negative things, challenges and difficulties that can throw us off course. Maybe you've experienced the loss of a job or a broken relationship. Maybe some negative words were spoken over you. Instead of dwelling on those things from the past, it's important that we set our minds on things above and remember the good things that God has done in our lives.

God knows that negative thoughts stop us in our tracks and sometimes they come out of nowhere! You can be driving down the street and see a billboard or a building you used to go to and suddenly all the difficult memories come flooding back.

The apostle Paul said, "I'm writing to remind you…" In other words, he was saying, "We need to remember some things. We can't let our thoughts go on auto pilot. We can't fall into the temptation to dwell on the negative. We need to make the choice to focus on the good things!

In the old testament, not only did they remember the good things, God commanded that they take time to actually celebrate! They had festivals and appointed times of remembrance. And truly, it wasn't a suggestion by God. I believe He knew that if His people would focus on the good, that it would lead them forward into His perfect plan.

Today, don't get so busy doing life that you forget to celebrate the good. Remember your victories, successes, and joyful times. Remember, scripture tells us that he casts our sin as far is from the East is to the West and remembers them no more! If God remembers our mistakes no more, than we shouldn't either! Rather than dwelling on the past and remember the good!
